Walk for Healing Hearts

Due to the unique circumstances surrounding COVID-19, a number of 2020 events have been or will be postponed, including the 2020 Walk for Healing Hearts. IHH continues to accept donations for future events, however. Please continue to check this website frequently for updates.

The Walk for Healing Hearts brings together IHH families, their loved ones, and the public to raise money and awareness for congenital heart defects and walk in honor of our Heart Heroes. Food, silent auction, and Angel Ceremony butterfly release are also traditionally part of the day.

Walk for Healing Hearts 2019 Details

This is a fun public event where we get to honor our angels, celebrate our heroes, bring awareness to our community about CHDs and childhood onset heart disease, and have a great silent auction!

Intermountain Healing Hearts relies on fundraisers like this to be able to have activities such as our birthday party and Heart to Heart, as well as fund our grant program.

If you are not able to join us this year or have out of town family that want to show support, we have a virtual walker option this year.  Please consider this option if you are unable to be there.  There will be a prize for the family that has the most virtual walkers sign up!

This year’s walk includes breakfast and an optional t-shirt.

Please invite your family and friends to participate in this fun event.

Code for discount if you choose to use them (remember it’s a fundraiser) – these are case sensitive:

2019FAMILY – for a discount for a family with over 5 immediate members (all can be claimed on your tax returns)

We want everyone to attend this event that wants to so if cost is prohibiting, please contact Aubrey at aubrey@ihhearts.org.  Also, feel free to contact with any questions.

Past Walk for Healing Hearts Events

These are the activities IHH has done in past years for our Walk for Healing Hearts Events.

The walk in 2018 returned to Riverton City Park where we had TeePee Photo Booth, JubJub the Clown, and carnival games for the kids. We had a great silent auction and we honored our heart angels and celebrated our heroes. A big thanks to all our volunteers for making the day such a success!

2017’s walk was at Riverton City Park which is a beautiful open space that features many playgrounds and a very nice concrete walking path. There were appearances by 501st Legion characters and Kids Heroes. The event ended with a butterfly release angel ceremony where our families honored their heart angels.

2016's walk for IHH was special. We coordinated with a great partner, Geek'd Out Events, to have a bigger impact on spreading CHD awareness with a 5K event. The event was held at West Jordan Veterans Memorial park. Each registered participant received a special t-shirt. The Geek'd Out Events 5K was called The Potter Run and they had around 800+ runners come out in costume to race for a great organization and cause.  This year Intermountain Healing Hearts was Geek'd Out Events organization of choice to donate to.

In 2015 we had the Alpine Garrison of the 501st Legion on hand for photo-ops and Red Cross Blood Services was on hand taking blood donations. We also had other various hero characters wandering the park to take pictures with the kids.
