Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week is February 7-14 each year. It is an opportunity to show appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Primary Children's Medical Center who care for our kids. IHH also does outreach and public education about CHD's at the hospital throughout the week.
To recognize the amazing medical professionals who care for our children, IHH delivers heart shaped pizzas to the cardiology clinic and cardiothorasic surgery teams, and cookies for the nurses.
Parents, kids and siblings come together for food and fun getting to know one another. It's a great time to put faces with names of the people you have met online.
The Heart 2 Heart event has become a group favorite, where women (Heart Moms and Adults with CHD) can come together and renew friendships forged through difficult times and enjoy a special sisterhood.
The second week of August is Family Heart Camp held at Camp Wapiti (owned by the Elks Association) near Tooele. Families stay in tents and cabins, enjoy the swimming pool and playground, a movie under the stars, and a medical forum on Saturday morning for parents while the kids enjoy other fun activities. It's a memorable weekend for all.
The Walk for Healing Hearts brings together IHH families and their loved ones to raise money and awareness and walk in honor of our Heart Heroes. A breakfast, silent auction, and butterfly release Angel Ceremony are also traditionally part of the morning.
Please let us know if you would like to donate items for the Silent Auction (Gift Cards, Toys, Passes, Sport Equipment, etc) anytime throughout the year. Businesses can also become a sponsor for IHH and get their logo on our Walk t-shirts.
Enjoy an evening of elegance at the inaugural Heroes of the Heart Gala, hosted by Utah-based Intermountain Healing Hearts (IHH). This black tie soirée celebrates our 10th anniversary supporting families of those born with heart defects or with childhood onset heart disease in the Intermountain West and beyond
